Morning: Board your flight from Addis Ababa to Robe, a charming town nestled amidst the stunning Bale Mountains.
Afternoon: Arrive in Robe and meet your experienced local guide who will accompany you throughout your adventure. Drive to Dinsho, a gateway to the park, and immerse yourself in the serene mountain atmosphere.
Evening: Set up camp in a picturesque location surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views. Embark on a leisurely hike to explore the surrounding area. Keep your eyes peeled for fascinating wildlife, such as Menelik’s bushbucks, mountain nyalas, warthogs, Bohor reedbucks, and a variety of colorful birds.
Morning: After a hearty breakfast, embark on a journey to the Sanetti Plateau, a high-altitude wilderness known for its unique biodiversity. As the sun rises, keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Ethiopian wolf, a critically endangered species found only in this region. The plateau’s winding road, one of the highest all-weather roads in Africa, offers stunning panoramic views.
Explore the plateau’s diverse ecosystems, home to giant molerats and a variety of rare lichens. Spot majestic birds of prey soaring in the sky, including golden eagles, tawny eagles, Verreaux’s eagles, bearded vultures, lanner falcons, and augur buzzards.
Afternoon: Continue your journey to Tullu Dimtu, the second-highest peak in Ethiopia. Descend into the lush Harenna tropical forest, a hidden gem teeming with life. Visit the charming village of Rira and relax with local refreshments. For the more adventurous, embark on a short hike through the forest to a bamboo-filled canyon with two cascading waterfalls. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool and spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, Bale monkeys, Menelik’s bushbucks, and a variety of bird species.
Morning: Embark on a guided hike to Gushuralle Peak, a hidden gem in the southern part of the National Park. Ascend through dense bamboo forests and be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for Bale monkeys, Menelik’s bushbucks, warthogs, colobus monkeys, and even the elusive leopard or lion.
Afternoon: Return to Goba town and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.
Late Afternoon: Return to Robe, Depart for Addis Ababa, carrying with your unforgettable memories of your adventure in the Bale Mountains National Park.
