  • Morning: Board your flight from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch, the gateway to the Omo Valley.
  • Mid-Day: Arrive in Arba Minch and meet your local guide. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a brief rest.
  • Afternoon: Embark on a short drive to Dorze, a fascinating village known for its unique beehive-shaped houses and Askilled cotton weavers. Explore the village, learn about the daily lives of the Dorze people, and visit the local market if it’s market day. Spend the night in a traditional hut or a comfortable hotel in Arba Minch.
  • Morning: Wake up early and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Embark on a boat trip on Lake Chamo, a stunning freshwater lake teeming with wildlife. Explore the crocodile market and marvel at the majestic hippos that inhabit the lake.
  • Afternoon: Drive to Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its unique stone and pole traditions. Visit one of the nine registered villages and learn about the Konso people’s fascinating culture. These industrious people are known for erecting stones and poles called “generation poles” to mark the beginning of a new generation. The age of the village can be determined by counting the number of standing poles.
  • Evening: Continue your journey to Turmi, where you’ll spend the night.
  • Morning: Begin your day with a visit to Karo Village, a charming settlement nestled along the banks of the Omo River. Marvel at the beauty of the village and observe the unique body painting traditions of the Karo people.
  • Afternoon: Return to Turmi for a well-deserved lunch and a short break. If the season is right, witness the extraordinary bull-jumping ceremony of the Hamer people. This captivating tradition celebrates a young man’s coming-of-age as he proves his courage and strength by jumping over a line of cattle. Another fascinating aspect of the ceremony is the whipping ritual, where women show their appreciation for the groom by allowing boys to whip them with sticks. If the bull-jumping ceremony is not taking place, explore a local Hamer village and learn about their daily lives.
  • Evening: Immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture by attending a colorful party featuring the Evangadi dance. This traditional celebration will leave you with lasting memories.
